Awkwafina
Awkwafina started out as a American musician and rapper making sly songs that addressed questions of race and sexuality with a humorous twist. Prior to her move to Hollywood, she could perform a variety of tracks. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living from Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was via the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop education began when she was a teenager. When she was in college, she focused on her studies. She majored both in women's study and journalism. In a short period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. Not until after graduation did she begin to concentrate on music. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included on the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The other viral hit songs included queef, a body positive track, and the witty NYC Bitchethe hometown tour for $. This track was directly linked with another Awkwafina project NYC a travel guide published in the year 2015. Her resume contained both an author and musician. Now she was looking to further her career in acting. She has appeared in films including Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a series of notable performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP In Fina We Trust.
